The State Bank of India celebrated its founder’s day at a function here on Monday. Dr M Sreenatha Sastry, SBI Chief General Manager, Kerala circle, inaugurated the function.
During the function, the Bank honoured P K Muhammed, managing director Western lndia Plywood Ltd, Kannur, for the contribution as a small-scale industrialist. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the bank also honoured Dr Narayanan, the founder of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission, Attapady in Palakkad, for the social service he rendered to the society. The Bank donated Rs one lakh to the mission.
Dr Narayanan is rendering medical service to the poor people of Attapadi, especially the tribals. Also present were Anil Kumar Gupta, general manager (Network-1); Antonio J D’Souza, general manager (Network -2); M Sreenath, general secretary, SBI Officers Association; and Philip Koshy, president, State Bank Staff Union.
