Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission

Distribution of devices for aiding online classes during lockdown

When online classes started in schools because of the pandemic, tribal students were unable to attend the classes due to absence of online facilities. The trust took the initiative of providing laptops to tribal villages in Attappady for improving access to online classes. The laptops were provided by EY GDS CARES team from Kochi Smart City. The laptops were handed over by Sri Thomas Xavier, Director IT, EYGDS, Kochi to Sri JobyBalakrishnan, school teacher at Govt LP School, Mulli, who received them on behalf of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission. The function took place at Smart City, Kochi.

The student participation in classes and provision of online content were coordinated by our social workers in each village. Laptops were also handed over to Block Resource Centre, Department of Education, Government of Kerala for distribution in villages. Selected students from colleges from very poor socioeconomic background were also assisted with laptops.

“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”
