Freshwater Aquaculture Units In Attappady

Intensive Training

Completed 10 - days intensive skill up gradation training covering 150 farmers in March 2022

Demonstration unit

Identified CRP. Set-up a 7x7 tarpaulin pond at CRPs plot for demo unit. Currently growing 500 fishes

Exposure visit

Conducted exposure visit at Malampuzha fisheries department and private farms in Kadambazhipuram ,Boothivazhi and Kalkkandi .72 farmers were participated in the visit

Units Set-Up

Set up 6 units in Samabarkodu ooru with an external grant support .Inaugurated on 17 September by Sri. Ramamoorthy, Sholayur Panchayat President. In Kallamala 8 units were opened. Now 12 units are running under this project.

The first harvest conducted on 30th January 2022 in Boothivazhi. Agali Panchayath member Mrs Mini G Kurupp purchased fish and inaugurated the harvesting program .
