Mental Health Training for college students

Aone day training camp for college students on ‘Mental Health- Unexplained facts’ was organised in connection with the 10th year of Community Mental Health Programme. The program was inaugurated by Srimathi Asha Latha, Forest Range Officer of Bhavani Range, Mukkali. Sri S.Sajimon Secretary of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission trust presided over the inaugural ceremony. Sri Ajith President of Press Club Attappady offered felicitations.

Classes on different topics of mental health like Depression, Psychosis, Suicide prevention, Substance abuse etc were taken by Dr. Narayanan (Chief Medical Officer, SVMM hospital), Dr. Naveen( Psychiatrist at Government Tribal Speciality Hospital, Attappady), Ms.Shilpa (Psychologist at Punarjani Counseling Centre, Palakkad) and Ms. Saranya ( Psychologist at Punarjani Counseling Centre, Thanal, Mayannoor). Students from National Service Scheme units in IHRD College, Government College, ITI etc participated in good strength.
